We specialize in helping clients envision, build, and launch large-scale software projects in streaming, media, automotive, and other industries. Headquartered in Europe, with 130+ people in hubs in Amsterdam, Madrid, Valencia and across the globe, we have outgrown a finance setup run by founders, spreadsheets, and local providers, and we are now building a real group finance function.

About the job

In this role you will own finance across our Dutch and Spanish entities, with the majority of our clients and contracts based in the US.

Based in Amsterdam, you report directly to our founders, lead our group accountant, run the relationship with our external tax advisor, and do much of the work yourself: you build the forecast, write the intercompany policy, and sit with the accountant on year-end.

Your two most visible outputs are clear reporting to the board and budget insights that let team leads make their own operational calls. This is a Head of Finance role today, in a company growing fast enough that the role can grow with you.

What you’ll own

Accounting

• Creating clear accounting principles for all entities with timelines for monthly and annual closing

• Accounts payable/receivable, including invoicing, collections, and overdue payments, using Odoo as the single source of truth for invoicing, receivables, and payables.

• Year-end with our external accountant (NL) and gestorías (ES), so preparation of clear year end files and all PBC list (prepared by client in liaison with external accountants)

• Payment approvals, bank and Odoo access rights, aligned with our ISO controls

Control and reporting

• Financial performance and P&L, providing the founders and leadership team with insights that drive pricing, resourcing, investment, and growth decisions.

• Balance sheet reviews across all entities

• A monthly hours-worked (Float) versus hours-invoiced check, our biggest revenue risk

• Our yet-to-be-created internal control framework

• Annual budget and a monthly rolling forecast for the group and each entity

• Board reporting: a monthly pack and quarterly reviews the board can act on

• Budget insight for team leads: each lead sees spend, margin, and hours against budget, so they can make calls without waiting for finance

• Management KPIs: project margin, billability, revenue per client, cash

• A cash-flow forecast and cash management across entities, so we never get surprised

• Salary bands and EU Pay Transparency compliance, in collaboration with People and Culture

Tax

• The relationship with our external tax advisor: VAT, payroll tax and corporate income tax filed correctly and on time in NL and ES

• Setting up and monitoring transfer pricing policies

• Subsidies and Tax incentives: WBSO in the Netherlands and R&D deduction in Spain

About you

To be considered a candidate for this role, we expect you to have:

Experience

• At least 8 years in finance, ideally with a foundation in audit or advisory and concrete experience in a scale-up

• You have run finance for a multi-entity group, preferably with both Dutch and Spanish entities

• You have reported to a board or investors and know what makes a pack useful rather than long

• You know a services business: hours, utilization, project margin, fixed-price versus time-and-materials

• You have implemented or rebuilt an ERP (Odoo is a plus) and set up a monthly close from scratch

• Working knowledge of Dutch tax: VAT, payroll tax, vennootschapsbelasting, transfer pricing

Skills

• You make numbers usable for non-finance people: dashboards a team lead actually opens

• You use AI tools every day and have automated at least one finance check or workflow yourself, with a human still signing off

• You build your own models

• Fluent English; Dutch or Spanish is a strong plus, both are ideal

Compensation

Our range for this function, in Amsterdam, is €90,000–€115,000 gross per year (incl. 8% holiday allowance), plus benefits.
