We are looking for a Senior Rust Engineer with 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, using system languages like C, C++, and/or (at least 2+ years) Rust. We’re remote-first (Europe), with hybrid options in Amsterdam, Madrid and Valencia.

About the job

The job will consist of collaborating with other software engineers in Europe and the USA to work on in-vehicle (car) software in Rust. The main project currently under development is an R&D project that aims to reimagine a software stack for automotive, leveraging the benefits of Rust with modern concepts like WASM/WASI for flexibility and updatability. Therefore, the ideal candidate is able to dig deep into new technologies, present possible solutions, and deliver through ambiguity.

This is a remote or hybrid position, which could be anywhere in Europe. We have locations in Amsterdam (HQ), Madrid and Valencia, with more hubs to come in the future. Even if you’re fully remote, you are encouraged to come hang out in our clubhouse in central Amsterdam from time to time, or meet up with the team at a conference, meetup, or other event.

Job requirements

**Our ideal candidate has experience with:**

2+ years of writing production applications with Rust
Multithreaded design patterns and applications that make use of concurrency
5+ years of experience with systems languages (C/C++/Rust or similar)

Bonus points for experience with:

Building embedded software
WebAssembly, WASI
Building user interfaces (with Rust)
The Automotive industry (for example IVI; in-vehicle infotainment)
(Embedded) Linux, and/or Automotive Grade Linux (AGL)
Streaming (audio and/or video)
Automated Testing
Localization
Large modularized codebasesStreaming (audio and/or video)
