We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer with 5+ years of professional experience building native Android apps using modern frontend framework. We’re specifically looking for candidates in Portugal for this position.

About the job

We work with a variety of clients in several domains, such as streaming and automotive. The project we’re recruiting for at the moment is in the automotive sector, but future projects will vary between the domains. We have long-term relationships with our clients, and the goal is always to create next level work for everyone involved.

This is a position in Portugal. The project you will be working on initially will involve travel to Lisbon on a regular (monthly) basis, although this will likely not be needed in future projects.

We have locations in Amsterdam (HQ), Madrid and Valencia, with more hubs to come in the future. Even if you’re fully remote, you are encouraged to come hang out in our clubhouse in central Amsterdam from time to time, or meet up with the team at a conference, meetup, or other event.

Our ideal candidate has knowledge of / experience with:

• 5+ years of modern Android development

• Kotlin and coroutines

• Reactive Programming

• Automated Testing

• Use of Git in collaboration across a number of teams

• Reviewing Pull Requests is part of your DNA.

• Understanding the importance of Code quality. Eg Readability, testability and scalability.

• Team player

• Can work independently on complex tasks

• Good communication skills in English both written and verbal

• We are only considering candidates already living in Portugal.

Bonus points for experience with:

• Android Automotive OS (AAOS)

• Java in addition to Kotlin

• Streaming (audio and/or video)

• Media Players

• In-app purchases

• Localisation

• Large modularised codebases

• Design system / patterns
